Mrs Ismail’s Story – Deceased Estate Administration

Coming to terms with a spouse’s passing away, involves intense emotions, lifestyle changes and practical considerations which life certainly does not prepare you for. It is a very hard time for the surviving spouse and the grieving process in itself takes up most of your time and energy to process. One of the last things on your list is to now deal with the administration and winding up of your spouse’s deceased estate. This was exactly the situation for Cape Town’s Mrs Faezah Ismail when she lost her husband in 2018.

In September 2019, Mrs Ismail saw a Facebook advertisement of Siyatec Executors and set up a consultation with us to hopefully get advice on how to start the administration of her late husband’s estate. In the initial consultation, we explained the entire deceased estate process including the various role players such as the Executor and Master of the High Court. We also addressed all her queries and concerns, and completed the Reporting Documents for her signature.

We proceeded to report the estate to the Master of the High Court and a few months later obtained the Letters of Executorship which she needed to deal with the assets of her late husband’s estate.

Fast forward about a year later, we are nearing the final stages of the estate. There were no hiccups in liquidating the assets of the estate and distribution to the heirs of the deceased is just about completed.

Here’s a word from our client Mrs Ismail:

My first consultation was one of empathy which immediately gave me a sense of relief. The simple terms used in order to explain the process ahead was of great help to me with my frame of mind at the time. I wish to express my sincere thanks for the professionalism and open communication displayed during the process of administration. I will definitely recommend Siyatec.
